Interestingly I do not get this error. I have the same issues while working with 4K30 and 4K60, setting the "Dynamic RAM preview" to 0 fixes it for some reason, even on my computer with 64GB memory I normally "only" have 32GB memory in there.

Setting it to 0 is the only fix for now from my testing. It just shows in a different way now. Vegas compositing pipeline really isn't built or scaled to handle 4K workflows yet so starts throwing out of memory issues or video rendering hangs for no apparent reason. I tried setting dynamic RAM preview to 0, normally I have and yes rendering works! There really is no choice with this, please have Quicktime installed at all times for Vegas to work correctly. Not only is there a 4GB limit, 64bit users could also experience a glitch which limited there available access to RAM, to just a mere 2GBs.

Sometimes another weird problem may occur, which I call a Vegas X-file. If Vegas crashes and reports an exception error, sometimes setting the Dynamic RAM Preview value to 0 MB that is zero megabytes will fix the render crash. However, as I have previously said, MB is normally the safest setting.

I found only this thread on the topic. Try what is suggested there. You might try resetting first instructions here. If you are able to store your projectfile vf on a cloud service without content we can try that file on our hardware if you also give the mediainfo of the used sourcefiles and also if they are different from each other and offer also a screenshot of your rendertemplate that gives your error. I have no idea why that made a difference.
